Founded by Count Giuseppe Volpi in 1932, the Venice Film Festival 2010 had its opening ceremony organized successfully at the Sala Grande Palazzo Del Cinema with the participation of leading politicans and well-known film stars. This is the first time this film festival has witnessed the attendance of Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and his wife Clio Maria Bittoni. They were warmly welcomed by the crowd. Besides, fans were eager to admire star “Black Swan” Natalie Portman and other celebrities worldwide.
In 11-day film festival (September 1st – September 11th), 79 movies of 34 countries will be debuted and 24 films are competing for the top prize this year, Golden Lion. In addition to the best film screened, both the media and the public are waiting for the announcement of the names of stars who will be awarded Volpi Cup for the best actor and actress.
